DRIVING DIRECTIONS: from Stewiacke, take Exit11, east off the HWY102 into the village of Stewiacke. Drive thru town, about 1km, and take the right hand fork at the intersection onto Kitchener Street. Follow this road, which becomes Stewiacke Road, 23.5km to the intersection with South Branch Road. Turn right to remain on Stewiacke Road. Continue another 800m, then take the first right onto Reids Station Road. Drive down this road 1km or so, parking alongside the road.

TRAIL DESCRIPTION: hike down into the gorge, then head upstream towards the falls.

These falls split at the top, forming distinctive side by side waterfalls. Viewing them from the opposite bank you can see both at once.

  1. It should not come as a surprise, but just so you know: In Mid-August, there was not a lot of water in these falls. One of them was just a trickle (the one on the left in the picture), and the other one wasn't gushing much either. Then again, this made it much easier to actually get to the falls. For the most part, I waded up the river, which nicely cooled my feet through my rubber boots. :-)

    At first, I missed the entrance: Very shortly after you turn off the paved road, the Reids Station Rd crosses a small bridge. Lots of vegetation there, so you probably don't realize it is a bridge with water underneath. But, in fact, that is were you have to enter the riverbed. Then the hike took me a good 45 minutes each way.
