TRAIL DESCRIPTION: follow the trail marked by the "Fantum Falls" sign approximately 400m to the top of the falls and descend the slope into the gorge to the base of the falls. A second set of falls, about 10 feet in height, pushes thru the narrow gorge about 50m upstream from Fantum Falls. Steve Meredith's site shows a total of four falls along this brook, the main falls and three smaller falls of about 5-10 feet in total drop.

  1. I was there today but had a tough time finding it. The 300 meters on the dirt rd threw me off and I ended up bushwacking until I reached the river then followed river until I came to falls. once there the proper trail was easy to see and follow out a very short distance to dirt rd. Once your on high clearence vehicle dirt rd its actually not 300 meters to trail head but between 1.5 km and 2 km. Its a really nice place once there and by taking the long way there came across some really wild and high places on river banks that must have been 100 ft straight down. Thanks to Mr. Crowley, I will be hiking to many more from now on

  2. Yes, that's right thanks to Mr. Crowley,... we were there today, and should say the distance from the main road, going on dirt road to the sign that you park the SUV (you can not go by a car !!) is 1.9km.the bridge there, is almost half the way.

  3. Thanks for the info! We went there yesterday and it was very nice. Question: That photo of you at the top of this page...was that taken at Fantum Falls? We didn't see anything like that, but if it's there, we'll go back and explore some more.

We walked in from the main road as we could not drive down it in a Toyota Matrix without risking ripping the crap out of the undercarriage of the car. There was a place to park right at the start and it took no more than 20 minutes to make it to the start of the trail. The falls were great, and we walked off to the left to see a few more falls which meandered through cut rock. Well worth the trip. Thanks again!
